Duke´s
Bedroom

The dramatic setting of a ducal bedroom

ABOUT

The Duke's Bedroom on the first floor of the castle is today used by conference guests as an exceptional place to spend the night.

The furniture is bulky and ostentatious - just as the Duke wished for. The throne-like box-bed dominates the room and rests on a wooden platform. With the bedside cabinets and the wall panelling made of spruce, walnut and exotic woods, a well-coordinated overall impression is produced.

The even larger bathroom adjoins the bedroom. The plinth walls are furnished with high-quality, polished marble slabs. Above them are large-sized ceramic panels. The two "carriage lamps" above the washbasin are a further example of the prevalent Art Deco design. This room also bears the hallmark of house artist Friedrich Attenhuber. The bedroom was first relocated here from the site of the modern-day Garden Room in 1961.
